Tradition vs Dedication

..." How come there was no formation this year?..why no dance?...a lot of questions popped up immediately after the Band finished performing at Sports Day 2009 .Well firstly I guess seeing the Band doing these regular stuff year after year has made them(applied to all in general) thinking that it's an easy task ...WELL the answer is a resounding NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Unknown to many ,the band had alredy started on its formation practice in February but it soon came to a halt when the band was required to enter a competition .It was an indoor concert..in Kuantan. It was organised by the Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia the same body that gave a huge allocation for the school band as a niche area.If you enter the band room now you would see the amount of new instruments it was an inevitable competition we had to go..thus we had to do away wit the formation and dance...n put whatever time on preparing for the competition... N if were to tell u the horrendrous journey the boys had for the competition trip..it might make u think for a while... Firstly the school bus broke down .Boys had to wait in the hot bus for more than two hours,all the competition performing boys changed bus and the non essential team members got down.... The place of lodging is 60 km away from the hall where the competition was taking place. At the hostel the boys stayed ,some of their belongings were stolen! The band reaches back the island on Sunday. Monday break. Tuesday sports rehearsal. The band advisors with INSTRUCTOR MR HASWANI IN RECENT MONTHS HAVE DECIDED THAT TAKING THE BOYS OUT FOR TRAINING DURING SCHOOL HOURS IS STRICTLY A NO NO. With this in mind time is limited for the band to prepare a full scale formation. ...anyhow at the end of the day i guess it's important to note that it's not the formation OR dance that Frees should be proud of but unreserved dedication that forms the beautiful formation of a students character! Bravo PFS band...n now get to work for the State Formation competition guys
